Chito is an 11-month-old Portuguese Water Dog enrolled in our Stepping Out Therapy Dog Program, and he has been making a splash ever since joining the Dawgs at Work family! Thoughtfully sourced from Aguas De Seda Portuguese Water Dogs through our trusted partner, Doggit, Chito brings together everything we look for in a future therapy dog: intelligence, enthusiasm, adaptability, and a genuine love for people.
Bright and eager to learn, Chito approaches each new challenge with curiosity and confidence. Whether he’s exploring new environments, practicing therapy dog skills, or meeting new friends, he is always ready to jump in with a wagging tail and a positive attitude. But beyond his training potential, what truly makes Chito special is his heart. He has a fun-loving personality, a joyful spirit, and an endless supply of affection to share with everyone he meets. His combination of enthusiasm and connection makes him a wonderful candidate for therapy work as he continues progressing through the program.

Klaus is a 1-year-old German Shepherd and one of the rising stars in our therapy dog program! Klaus began his journey with Dawgs at Work when he was just 8 weeks old after being carefully sourced from Roche’s German Shepherds. Since day one, he has shown an incredible enthusiasm for learning and a strong desire to work alongside his people. At home, Klaus lives with our lead trainer and fellow therapy dog North, who has helped mentor him as he grows into his role. Whether he’s learning new skills, practicing for visits, or exploring new environments, Klaus approaches every challenge with confidence, curiosity, and determination.
While Klaus takes his work seriously, he knows how to have fun too! His favorite activities include learning new tricks, dock diving, spending time out on the boat, and convincing anyone nearby to throw his beloved Kong Wubba toy for just one more game of fetch. Klaus truly embodies the saying, “Work hard, play hard.” He brings energy, enthusiasm, and heart into everything he does, and we are excited to watch his therapy dog career continue to grow. We can’t wait to see all the lives Klaus will touch as he continues his journey.
Frankie is a 3-year-old Bernedoodle currently enrolled in our Therapy Dog Training Program. With her sweet personality, gentle nature, and love for people, Frankie is working hard toward an important future role at Northshore Eye and Wellness. Once her training is complete, Frankie will help provide comfort and support to children during their eye care appointments. Many children feel nervous or uncertain during medical visits, and Frankie will be there to help make the experience more positive, relaxed, and enjoyable.
As part of her training, Frankie is learning to confidently demonstrate common parts of the eye exam process. She practices skills such as wearing glasses, sitting in the exam chair, receiving eye drops, and participating in other routine procedures. By modeling these experiences in a calm and positive way, Frankie can help children feel more comfortable and confident during their own appointments.
Frankie continues to make excellent progress and has already shown a natural ability to connect with the people around her. We are excited to watch her continue developing her skills and making a difference in the lives of the children she will serve. Keep up the great work, Frankie!
Finley is a 2-year-old Golden Retriever currently participating in our Therapy Dog Training Program. From the moment he started training, Finley has continued to impress us with his eagerness to learn, positive attitude, and natural ability to connect with the people around him.
Finley is an incredibly smart dog and a fast learner who enjoys every opportunity to work with his handler and show off his growing skills. His enthusiasm for training, combined with his friendly and gentle personality, makes him a wonderful therapy dog prospect. One of Finley’s greatest strengths is his ability to bring smiles wherever he goes. Whether he’s meeting new people, practicing his therapy dog skills, or simply offering a wagging tail and a happy face, Finley has a way of brightening the day of everyone he meets.
We are incredibly proud of the progress Finley continues to make and look forward to watching him grow throughout his therapy dog journey. Keep up the great work, Finley!
Today we’re excited to introduce Sophie, one of our incredible ministry dogs!
Sophie is a 3-year-old Golden Retriever who completed our Therapy and Ministry Dog Training Program and now serves as a ministry dog with the Lutheran Church of the Prince of Peace. Through her gentle nature, friendly personality, and love for people, Sophie helps bring comfort, encouragement, and connection to those she meets.
Sophie stays busy with an active ministry schedule, making regular visits throughout the community. Some of her favorite stops include Kettle Moraine Gardens, Kirkland Crossings, Brookfield East High School, Froedtert Menomonee Falls Hospital, and many other locations where her presence brings smiles and support to residents, students, patients, staff, and visitors alike.
Whether she’s offering a quiet moment of comfort, helping someone through a difficult day, or simply brightening a room with her wagging tail, Sophie demonstrates the incredible impact that well-trained therapy and ministry dogs can have within their communities.
We are so proud of Sophie and grateful for the difference she continues to make through her work and dedication. Thank you for being such an amazing ambassador, Sophie!
Roger is a 1-year-old Rottweiler participating in the Dawgs at Work Therapy Dog Program. His home base for work is the Brain Injury Center, where he spends his time providing comfort, companionship, and support to residents and staff. Roger has quickly become a favorite thanks to his friendly personality, calm demeanor, and willingness to connect with everyone he meets. Whether he’s sharing a quiet moment with a resident or brightening someone’s day with a visit, Roger is always ready to lend a paw.
Recently, Roger achieved an exciting milestone by earning his Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title with our team. This accomplishment reflects the dedication and hard work that both Roger and his handler have put into their training journey. We are incredibly proud of Roger and look forward to watching him continue to grow and succeed as a therapy dog. Way to go, Roger!
