A Special Day with Basil
Today was a very special day for our ministry dog, Basil, at Hales Corners Lutheran Church.
Basil had the honor of helping celebrate the baptism of our lead trainer’s baby girl Evelyn.Throughout the service, he provided his usual calm and comforting presence while sharing in this meaningful milestone with her family and church community.
One of the most rewarding parts of Basil’s role as a ministry dog is being present during life’s important moments. Whether offering comfort, encouragement, companionship, or simply bringing a smile to someone’s face, he has a unique way of helping people feel welcomed and supported.
Today was a beautiful reminder of the impact these dogs can have within churches and faith communities. We are so grateful to Hales Corners Lutheran Church for embracing Basil’s ministry and allowing him to be part of such meaningful moments.
Congratulations on your baptism, sweet girl. We are honored that Basil could help celebrate alongside you today.
Sunday Reset
Sundays are a great time to slow things down and reset for the week ahead. Instead of focusing on training goals or high energy work, take today to support calmness and connection with your dog. A relaxed walk, quiet leash time in a familiar environment, or simply encouraging your dog to settle and rest can go a long way in helping them decompress from the week. Dogs, especially puppies, working dogs, and high energy breeds, benefit just as much from rest and recovery as they do from training and activity. Our Puppy Board and Train program gives puppies the opportunity to live and learn in a trainer’s home environment while building important life skills and foundations. Available in 2, 3, and 4 week options, this is not a kennel style program. Puppies become part of daily life while working on house manners, kennel training, socialization, confidence building, beginner obedience, leash skills, and more. Because the program is home based, puppies gain experience in real world environments and everyday routines while receiving individualized attention and training.
